THE GREEN ROLLING HILLS
I had a meeting with a recruitment agent today and it was all a bit manic - woke up early with our food delivery which was followed by a package arriving via the Post man. I then proceeded to clean out and pack the fridge/freezer before settling down to a continental style breakfast with my man - sliced melon, meats, french bread, pate, cheeses etc. It was delicious.
Sadly I got carried away talking, was late getting into the shower, my dress was still damp, had a dress change, knocked over my jewellery stand, no direct trains, no research done, printer took ages to print off all the in the info - arrived a sweaty, stress head!
The recruitment agent was lovely though, really encouraging and has given me a boost for my interview tomorrow, especially as I had a dentist appointment afterwards and have possibly fractured my tooth from stress grinding (which apparently should not be seen in someone of my age).
So as you can see I went for this polka dot vintage style tea dress - it’s by TU which is a clothing range at Sainsbury. Each to their own but I tend to steer clear of clothing/supermarket combinations because I find the quality is not high standard although I slightly take this back when it comes to the George and G21 ranges at Asda and this TU range.
I won this dress on eBay from this seller and am pleasantly surprised - it’s a size 18 and is very roomy, good fit across the bust, not tight on the arms, a good length, nips in at the waist with an elasticated seam so does not really need a belt, lovely material, instant smart and machine washable - what more could you ask for?
As this is one bold colour and pattern I did not want to over accessorise so kept it basic with faux pearl earrings, brown leather belt, black tights and black faded denim brogues from River Island.
The only downer is that I felt boob hangover with the belt, so would wear this without a belt in future - I also think a black tailored jacket and some heels would go better with this for a work wear/smart creative vibe.
Are you into tea dresses? Have you tried supermarket clothing brands? And if yes, which ones do you prefer?
